Non-dominant Language Translators
2005-2006:
Solidaris recruited linguists for the translation of security-sensitive material in minority languages (speakers from developing, Islamic, or otherwise non-traditional countries) for a commercial client MVM Security (Vienna, Virginia) contracted by the US Department of Justice.
Religious Minority Ministry
2006: Solidaris has recruited a Roman Catholic Priest for pluralist/multi-ethnic Ministry at Naval facilities in Virginia (pending)
2006:
Solidaris is in the process of recruiting moderate Islamic clerics to provide Muslim Imam services to inmates in US Federal correctional facilities - including leading the Jumah Prayer and spiritual guidance to the inmates in accordance with general Islamic practice.
English Teaching in Prison
2003-2004:The United States Federal Bureau of Prisons made a single award for
the provision of English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructional Services for
the Federal Correctional Institution located in Dublin, California. The contract
consists of a 12-month base period and four 12-month option periods for renewal.
Cultural Competency Training
2006: European Community funds for to render "technical
assistance for the implementation of the educational component under the `improvement
of the situation and inclusion of the disadvantaged ethnic minorities with a
special focus on Roma' program" have been pre-applied for. The program calls
for training educators and members of the police force (2007-2008) in cross-cultural
competency involving the Roma population of Bulgaria (pending).
